I had this fantasy that I was going to solder silver jewelry with a butane torch on my tiny apartment balcony. This would have been highly impractical and extremely dangerous. Never known for sanity, I ignored the impossibility of doing this and I took the first step of implementing this plan by taking a silver working class. It was during this class that I made silver cupcake earrings so wretched that the instructor kept on dropping them out of either envy or pain.

I still want to work in silver, but silver is impractical for another reason. Those two cupcake earrings cost $20 for the silver alone. I want to make thousands of cupcake earrings.
